Personality: Silent, talented and above all determined, Ayumi Takahashi is the perfect candidate to be the head someone's elite bodyguard squad.

She has a wide range of disguises and techniques to fool others into thinking that she's not there when she can spring into action very quickly and take full advantage of the element of surprise. Despite her love for the ancient art of the Ninja she's also massively in love with gadgets.

She's also very patient and determined to get the job done and often trains her fellow guards to be the best of the best. Many outsiders compare the Imperial Shinobi Guard's skills to those of Navy SEALs and other elite Western fighting units, they're also surprised at Sakura having a entourage of Ninjas following her around and so they prefer not to anger the Empress.

She fiercely believes that a good ninja must never reveal her appearance in public and therefore has adopted a wide range of disguises to avoid showing her true face. She also vehemently refuses to show her true face to house guests and often speaks with her daughter or her husband through other means of communications. Ayumi therefore lives a very secretive and secluded life, constantly wearing masks and deceiving others to preserve the safety of her country. Her most famous quote is, "I'm willing to live in the shadows to preserve the light of my country and the people I vowed to protect."

Her most used disguise is the guise of Yakuza Isle's best sushi chef. She owns the most prestigious restaurant in the country located on the Imperial Palace ground, her delicacies are the most renowned around the world and the globe's richest often line up all year round to taste them. The restaurant is also filled with secret passages that can only be activated by her and her ninjas. Her house is also filled with such passages and is also booby-trapped to prevent snoops from getting to her secrets.

Her professional and silent demeanor almost disappears when she's off duty at her home, there she's known to be rather playful and sweet, often wearing a simple t-shirt and baggy gym pants (Whilst still wearing her sunglasses of course). She likes to sneak up on her husband and daughter to see how they react to it and to keep her daughter on her toes for her ninja training.

Ayumi is no stranger to Sakura's illicit Yakuza business but since they're dealing mostly in cannabis and they're mostly non-violent she's okay with it.

She speaks with a slight Japanese-Korean accent and uses proper honorifics, she always calls Sakura either Sensei (Master or Teacher), Kōgō (Empress), Oyabun (Boss, only during Yakuza business).

Background: Ayumi comes from a long line of elite Shinobis and Kunoichis, the Ninjistu runs through her blood and her family has been known for being one of the most fearsome and talented in the trade.

The relationship between the Nakazawas and the Takahashis goes back to Feudal Japan, when the former provided the latter protection from the Shoguns in return for the Ninjas' skills and information. The Nakazawas' domain was nestled next to Iga, the mountainous region where the most elite Ninjas would train and where the first contacts with the Takahashis where made.

Sakura's ancestor Hakiomodo was the one to persuade Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Japanese Shogun and one of the main unifiers of Japan, to adopt the Ninjas as his sort of personal bodyguards and secret police. During the Meiji period both families decided to modernize and the Takahashis set up and import-export business in Kyoto, exporting things like luxury goods and tea to Europe and America, whilst the Nakazawas supplied them with tea and the necessary goods.

During World War 2 both families once again worked together to bring down the military junta in Japan that was over-stretching the military and risking their luck by going against the US, after the end of the war both families gave up their property and moved to Korea but they became bogged down in the North and therefore forced to become Kim-Il-Sung's bodyguards. Both girls grew up together as their families where forced to stay together by the North Korean government.

Like her boss she was trained at the age of 6 in the most deadly martial arts, combat skills, stealth and sharpshooting skills in the world to eventually become a deadly assassin after being handpicked by the Dear Leader. Much like her future boss she hated the job and would go on to claim that the honour her family had built up was being lost with every person she had to kill or torture. She was raised and trained in a different area of the DPRK and would only meet Sakura at the age of 10 in Afghanistan when they where both sent there in the same squad to obtain information about the Americans. There she and the Empress-to-be would bond and become great friends over their nihilistic, apathetic and cynical views of their job and the country. She too felt that the world was fake and hypocritical and that they where just pawns that kept a few fat bastards presiding over a mass of impoverished and starved slaves.

After returning from Afghanistan at 18 she was forced into an arranged marriage by the Dear Leader with a brilliant Japanese scientist that was kidnapped to help build North Korea's nuclear program. Kim-Il-Sung first forced the ring into her finger and then forced her to torture him into accepting his new position. Ayumi often had to share a bed at night with the man she would whip, beat and torment during the day and would sometimes feel a mixture of pity and apathy for the man; on the one hand she was the person she was supposed to love and cherish as her partner but on the other she saw him as much as trapped victim of the regime as she was, the only difference was that she was one of the regime's butchers and fixers.

Her bond with her forced husband was far different then her colleague's one as Sakura was forced to marry another pawn of the regime, someone who had already been indoctrinated and cowed into obeying, whereas Ayumi married an outsider, someone who was scared of the DPRK's totalitarian and brutal regime.

She was then shipped to Kuwait the same year along with Sakura during the Gulf War against Saddam on the side of America and the collapsing USSR, the aim was once again espionage and not actual warfare. Ayumi wan't really all that interested in her fellow spy helping a blonde Soviet Kapitan called Sofiya Pavlenova Zolnerovich from the torments of Martha Von Untendrucker, a Flying Officer from Sundenland who enjoyed her newfound freedom from her abusive and neglectful parents. She did however spend some her time helping Sakura hide the Soviet woman and tend to her wounds to show comradeship between the Communists of the world.

After Kuwait she too became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter and she too decided it was time to leave the struggling Juche state; Ayumi did however bring her husband along to at least relieve the poor man's suffering from all the abuse he had to put up with from the regime.

After forging her papers she boarded a different freighter along with her husband and daughter and left for South America, eventually landing in Panama where she spent a few years doing some odd jobs for the government there (Mostly drug busting and counter-espionage) before being hired by her former colleague in 2000 to form the new bodyguard unit of the newly founded Imperial house of the Yakuzaislandese Empire.

Today she lives in Yakuza Isle but she has never shown her true identity to anyone apart from her family, Sakura, Asuki and the "Royal court" (Akira Fujimoto, Dr. Fumiko Masaki, Chief of Police Miwako Aikara and herself) along with their direct families to preserve the secrecy and integrity of her new mission, protecting Yakuza Isle. For once she actually enjoys the job as her boss's friendly foreign policy hasn't attracted that many enemies for her administration and her recreation policies (Drugs, Prostitution, Pornography and Gambling) mean that the country suffers very little from cartels and organised crime; her tasks nowadays are usually counter-espionage and recruit training. She also enjoys the fact that she's no longer the butcher or pawn for somebody else's political game, she now only there to keep the country, and the Empress, safe. Something that she definitely can live with.
